In his role as Macro Strategist Matt works with Institutional Family Offices and Institutional Investors as well as CIOs, PMs, Risk Mangers, and Traders to deliver actionable high impact market intelligence and commentary that is used for trade idea generation to portfolio strategy. This product is derived from research and an analytical framework focused on identifying market regime changes. The roots of which go back to his research in 2006 that identified the impending systemic level crisis centered around sub-prime. He has given expert interviews in the financial media, most recently to discuss global implications of PBOC’s devaluation after he accurately predicted the event in 2014. He has also been a contributor and Senior Macro Strategist to The Daily Shot, a macro newsletter that was part of the Wall Street Journal. Matt started his career as a low middle market credit analyst covering middle market borrowers across various industries and reporting to the Chief Credit Officer of Newstar Financial. His responsibilities included the due diligence and modeling of new deals, supporting restructurings, valuing assets, and interest rate forecasting.
